The composer, singer and guitarist received this nomination for his compositions "Amar com E" and "Time is so still." The ninth edition of The Musicoz Award - one of the main awards of the Australian music industry - will grant the winners more than U$ 200.000,00 in contracts and international tours. Roney Giah has been consolidating an international career through publishing contracts and international awards for his compositions. Roney Giah wins Honorable Mentionin The Billboard World Song Contest

São Paulo, Brazil, Jul 27, 2009 – The Brazilian artist Roney Giah won Honorable Mention in The Billboard World Song Contest for his composition Time is so still. The contest, created by the prestigious music journal Billboard, is in its 17th edition.

Time is so Still, an acoustic track from Roney Giah’s fourth CD Queimando a moleira, was sent to Billboard before its official release, scheduled for 2010. “It’s very gratifying to have such a feedback for a song that has not even left the cradle. I hope it flies even higher”, says the artist, who for the second time wins an international award.

In 2008, The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, created by Yoko Ono with judges such as Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean, John Legend, Fergie, Al Jareau, Bob Weir, and Lamont Dozier gave Honorable Mention in World category for thesong Amar com E from Roney Giah’s second CD, More days on earth.
